Seva Pakhwada: New schemes every single day

The Delhi government will launch a new welfare scheme or developmental project every day for 15 days beginning September 17, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Saturday. The initiative coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and will be observed as part of the Seva Pakhwada programme, running from September 17 to October 2.

During this period, a total of 75 welfare and development initiatives are scheduled to be unveiled. Officials said these schemes are aimed at expanding public services and accelerating the pace of development in the national capital.

The announcement was made after a meeting convened at the Delhi Secretariat, which was attended by ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, councillors, the Delhi BJP president, and other senior office bearers. Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the government was committed to dedicating new milestones in development to the people of Delhi.

The Seva Pakhwada will be a major step towards making the capital a Viksit Delhi, she said, highlighting that one new initiative would be launched daily over the 15-day period.

Officials confirmed that the projects and schemes lined up will cover multiple sectors, although the government did not disclose detailed specifics at the meeting. The focus, they added, would be on ensuring visible progress across welfare and development fronts.

The fortnight of service, which concludes on October 2 to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, will thus witness a continuous rollout of projects, underscoring the government’s emphasis on sustained service delivery to the people of Delhi.

With the launch of 75 schemes in 15 days, the government has projected this initiative as a symbolic and practical step to enhance governance and ensure direct benefits to residents.
