Settle Tax Arrears, Save Big: GHMC’s OTS Scheme Till March 2026
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has rolled out a significant relief measure for city property owners by allowing them to clear long-pending property tax dues with minimal interest burden. Under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme 2025–26 , GHMC has announced substantial concessions on accumulated interest, easing the financial load on taxpayers.
As part of the scheme, property owners who clear the entire principal amount of pending property tax will need to pay only 10 per cent of the accrued interest , with the remaining 90 per cent being waived by GHMC. This move offers taxpayers a cost-effective opportunity to regularise their dues. The scheme will be in effect up to March 31, 2026 , and officials have encouraged eligible owners to avail themselves of the benefit well before the deadline.
Tax payments can be made conveniently through the MyGHMC mobile application , other online payment platforms, Mee Seva centres , or by visiting the nearest GHMC Citizen Service Centre (CSC) . Civic officials noted that timely payment of property taxes plays a vital role in strengthening and improving urban infrastructure and public services.
According to GHMC data, Greater Hyderabad has around 19 to 19.5 lakh registered properties , largely comprising residential units, along with commercial and mixed-use properties. While approximately 14 to 15 lakh property owners pay their taxes regularly, an estimated 4 to 5 lakh properties still have outstanding dues. GHMC continues to introduce initiatives like the OTS scheme to enhance tax compliance and improve revenue collection.
