See, snap, earn: Rs 1,000 FASTag recharge for dirty toilet reports
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out a unique cleanliness drive, inviting highway users to report unclean toilets at toll plazas. Those who send valid reports can earn Rs 1,000 credited directly to their FASTag account. The drive runs until October 31, 2025.
Users can report dirty toilets by uploading geo-tagged, time-stamped photos through the latest version of the Rajmargyatra app. They must also provide their name, location, vehicle registration number, and mobile number.
Each vehicle registration number (VRN) can claim the reward only once during the campaign. Likewise, each toilet facility will be considered for reward only once per day, even if multiple reports are received. Only the first valid report of the day for a particular toilet will be eligible.
The reward is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. It applies only to toilets managed or maintained by NHAI, excluding those at fuel stations, dhabas, or other public facilities.
All submissions will be checked using AI-assisted screening and manual verification to ensure authenticity. Reports with duplicate, manipulated, or unclear images will be rejected.
NHAI said the initiative aims to encourage cleaner highways and make traveling more hygienic for everyone.
