Security, stability driving investors to UP: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday asserted that Uttar Pradesh has transformed into a preferred investment destination after 2017, claiming that earlier “no one even looked at the state,” but today major domestic and global investors are keen to invest due to improved security and decisive governance.

Addressing a function in Lucknow for the distribution of gas cylinder refill subsidy to 1.86 crore beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Chief Minister said the state government has created an environment conducive to investment and employment generation.

Referring to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s recent visit to Germany, Adityanath said Maurya explored investment opportunities and the defence manufacturing corridor being developed in the state. He added that the investment expected from countries such as Germany, Japan and Singapore would benefit the state and generate employment for its youth.

“The investment that will come from abroad is not going to benefit anyone personally. But the state will benefit and our youth will get jobs and employment opportunities,” he said.

The Chief Minister also said that talented youth from the state would get opportunities to work abroad and earn better incomes. “If a young person earning ₹20,000 here starts earning ₹2 lakh or ₹2.5 lakh abroad, what is wrong with that? They will live a respectable life,” he said.

Highlighting improvements in law and order, Adityanath claimed that earlier riots and curfews were frequent, but now “every daughter is safe and every businessman can grow their business with dignity.”

The remarks come amid the state government’s push to attract foreign investment and promote industrial growth through initiatives such as the defence corridor and global outreach efforts.
