Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express gets additional coaches
The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which currently runs with 14 coaches, has been upgraded to 18 coaches to accommodate growing passenger demand.
An official announcement from the Vijayawada Division of the South Central Railway Zone confirmed that the four additional air-conditioned chair car coaches have been permanently added to the train. This applies to both the Secunderabad-Tirupati service (Train No. 20701) and the return Tirupati-Secunderabad service (Train No. 20702).
There are no changes to the executive class coaches, which remain at two. Officials also noted that the total number of coaches on this route is expected to increase further from 16 to 20 in the near future.
Since its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2023, the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express has become a modern, comfortable, and efficient option for devotees traveling to Tirupati.
Acknowledging the rising popularity of the Vande Bharat service among passengers, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw approved the increase in coaches from 14 to 18, making travel more convenient, comfortable, and faster for everyone.
