Section 163 Enforced at All Nomination Centres in YSR Kadapa District

District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Sridhar Cherukuri has announced the enforcement of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) at all nomination centres across YSR Kadapa district to ensure the peaceful conduct of local body elections and prevent any untoward incidents.

The Collector directed revenue and police officials at the divisional level to remain vigilant and take all necessary measures to maintain law and order during the nomination process. He stressed that the filing of nominations must proceed smoothly, without disturbances or violations of election regulations.

Officials have been instructed to strictly enforce restrictions on large gatherings of candidates and their supporters at nomination centres. The administration aims to prevent overcrowding and avoid situations that could disrupt the election process or create tension.

Dr. Sridhar also emphasised the importance of creating awareness among political party representatives about the restrictions and election rules applicable at nomination centres. He directed revenue and police personnel to work in close coordination to ensure that the prescribed guidelines are implemented effectively.

The Collector warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone violating election rules. He made it clear that all officials concerned must remain alert, respond promptly to potential problems and discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

He further instructed officials from all departments involved in the election process to work collectively to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner.

The district administration is focusing on preventive measures, coordination between departments and strict enforcement of regulations to maintain order at nomination centres throughout the election process.
