
Science Experience Centre Worth ₹232 Crore Coming Up in Hyderabad
Construction of a state-of-the-art Science Experience Centre aimed at bringing scientific knowledge closer to the public is progressing in Hyderabad. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy shared key details of the project on X.
The Centre is being developed by the Central Government at the CSIR–IICT campus in Uppal with an estimated cost of ₹232.70 crore , and is being executed by the National Council of Science Museums . The project seeks to ensure that science learning goes beyond textbooks , enabling visitors to gain knowledge through direct, hands-on experiences supported by advanced infrastructure.
The proposed Centre will feature interactive exhibition halls that allow visitors to experience scientific concepts firsthand, along with motion simulators designed to replicate space travel and complex physical environments. A walk-through aquarium will offer insights into marine life and underwater ecosystems, while a 3D digital dome theatre will present space and astronomy in an immersive format. The facility will also house a robotics and space centre showcasing cutting-edge technologies, as well as innovation hubs equipped with laboratories and activity zones where students can develop and experiment with their creative ideas.
Once fully operational, the Centre is expected to enhance Hyderabad’s standing as a global hub in science and technology . The Minister expressed confidence that it will provide experiential education to the youth and serve as a major platform for innovation, transforming science into an engaging and entertaining learning experience.
