Schools to get smart with Vidyanjali CSR drive
In a major push to bridge India’s digital education divide, the Ministry of Education has rolled out 237 projects under the Vidyanjali CSR module, inviting corporate participation to strengthen school digital infrastructure. Spread across 16 states and Kendriya Vidyalayas, the initiative aims to provide students with modern learning tools and resources.
Implemented under the Samagra Shiksha framework, the projects call for active Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement. Schools will be equipped with essential digital items including UPS systems, printers, laptops, tablets, desktop computers, smart and LED TVs, projectors, interactive whiteboards, internet connectivity equipment, and computer accessories such as keyboards and mice.
Officials stressed that the program is not just about supplying hardware but creating an ecosystem where quality education is powered by technology. With remote learning and digital literacy gaining urgency in the post-pandemic era, such initiatives are expected to empower lakhs of students and prepare them for a knowledge-driven economy.
Education experts note that in many rural schools, even a single projector or reliable internet connection can transform classroom learning, making lessons more engaging and accessible. The effort also aligns with the Digital India vision and the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasize integrating technology into teaching.
Corporates can participate directly through the Vidyanjali portal, making targeted contributions to schools most in need. By linking education with CSR, the government seeks to build a sustainable model that narrows learning gaps, supports teachers, and ensures every child has access to a digitally enabled future.
