Schneider Electric Announces ₹623 Crore Expansion in Telangana

Global energy management and automation major Schneider Electric India has announced a major expansion of its operations in Telangana , committing an investment of ₹623 crore to strengthen its manufacturing presence in the state. The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 summit in Davos , after a high-level meeting between the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation , led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , and Schneider Electric India CEO Deepak Sharma . The meeting focused on industrial collaboration, future investment opportunities, and Telangana’s long-term roadmap for technology-driven and sustainable growth.

As part of the investment plan, Schneider Electric will expand its existing manufacturing facilities in Gagillapur and Shamshabad , significantly improving production capabilities. The company is expected to increase its capacity to manufacture key electrical safety and switching products such as Air Circuit Breakers (ACB) , Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) , contactors , push buttons , and other essential industrial electrical components. These products play a critical role in power distribution systems for factories, infrastructure projects and modern industrial operations, especially with rising demand from sectors such as manufacturing clusters, data centres, metro rail networks and smart city development.

Government sources said the discussions also covered strategic focus areas including power sector reforms , energy transition , energy storage projects , grid modernisation , improved energy efficiency , and the adoption of digital power management systems for industrial parks and urban infrastructure. The investment is being seen as an important step toward supporting Telangana’s growing requirement for advanced electrical systems, particularly as renewable energy integration expands and electricity demand continues to rise from high-consumption sectors.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appreciated the role of Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu in attracting major investments into the state and said sustainability would be central to long-term development, especially in line with the national ambition to achieve net-zero targets by 2047 . Schneider Electric India CEO Deepak Sharma stated that the company already operates 38 skill development centres in Telangana and continues to train youth in high-demand areas such as energy management , industrial automation , and digital transformation . Government officials said this fresh investment will not only strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem and supply chain but also accelerate Telangana’s progress in green growth , technology adoption , and high-value manufacturing expansion .
