
Schedule released for Telangana Panchayat elections
Telangana State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini on Monday announced the schedule for the second ordinary elections to rural local bodies.
The Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections will be conducted in two phases on October 23 and October 27, 2025. The Gram Panchayat (GP) elections will follow in three phases on October 31, November 4, and November 8, 2025. Counting of votes will be taken up on the same day for each phase.
A total of 12,733 Gram Panchayats, 5,749 MPTCs, and 565 ZPTCs, covering 1,12,288 wards across 31 districts, will go to the polls. The rural voter strength stands at 1.67 crore, with more than 85 lakh women voters.
Polling in 14 MPTCs, 27 GPs, and 246 wards will be withheld due to pending court cases. Voting will be conducted using ballot papers and ballot boxes, procured from states including Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.
Kumudini appealed to voters to participate in large numbers and urged political parties to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct, assuring that all arrangements are in place for free and fair polls.
