
Savitribai Phule Jayanti celebrated with grandeur in Tadepalli
The birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, a pioneering social reformer who dedicated her life to women’s empowerment and social equality, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Saturday at the YSR Congress Party central office in Tadepalli.
Party leaders paid rich tributes by offering floral wreaths to her portrait and recalled her immense contribution to women’s education and empowerment. Speakers highlighted that Savitribai Phule firmly believed education was the most powerful tool for women’s progress and social change.
MLC Lella Appireddy and former MLA Malladi Vishnu, who attended the event, said Savitribai Phule courageously overcame social discrimination and opposition to establish educational institutions for women, with the support of her husband Jyotirao Phule. They described her life as a lasting source of inspiration, especially for women leaders and the younger generation.
The leaders also noted that the previous YSRCP government worked in line with Savitribai Phule’s ideals by introducing transformative reforms in the education sector and ensuring greater representation of women in nominated posts and politics. They called upon party workers to continue striving for social justice and women’s empowerment.
The event was attended by several party functionaries, including YSRCP Legal Cell President Malasani Manohar Reddy, SC Cell Working President Kommuri Kanakala Rao, Employees and Pensioners Wing President Nalamaru Chandrasekhar Reddy, Grievance Cell President Narayana Murthy, BC Cell General Secretary Dastagiri, along with a large number of leaders and party workers from various wings.
