Satya Kumar Yadav Highlights Rural Healthcare Push Through Ayushman Clinics
In a significant step towards strengthening rural healthcare , the Andhra Pradesh government inaugurated a new Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Lakshmipuram village in Krishna district’s Avanigadda constituency. State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav and Avanigadda MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad formally launched the village health clinic in the presence of local residents and medical officials.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said the clinics, established under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are aimed at providing quality healthcare services directly to people in villages. The facility will offer 14 diagnostic tests and distribute 105 essential medicines free of cost, reducing the need for villagers to travel to urban areas for basic treatment.
Satya Kumar Yadav stated that out of the Rs.110 crore allocated for healthcare development in Krishna district, a major share has been earmarked for the Avanigadda constituency. He said 36 health clinics are being developed across the constituency at a cost of Rs.9.40 crore through BPHU centres.
Highlighting recent achievements in the medical sector, the minister said the state government is conducting free cancer screening programmes to ensure early detection and treatment. He also noted that Andhra Pradesh created a record by administering HPV vaccines to 5.5 lakh girls in a single day as part of a large-scale women’s health initiative.
The minister further observed that the coalition government’s free bus travel scheme has encouraged more women from rural areas to visit hospitals for regular check-ups, leading to a sharp rise in outpatient visits at government hospitals.
Referring to the visions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the minister said development and welfare must progress together to achieve the goals of “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” and “Viksit Bharat.”
