Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest Sankranti release Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSVPG) has registered a strong start at the box office, especially notable as the film released on a weekday. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the action-packed family entertainer hit theatres on Monday, January 12, 2026.

As of January 13, the film has collected approximately ₹84 crore worldwide, including premiere shows, according to trade estimates. In India, the film earned ₹28.50 crore net on its official opening day. In addition, paid previews and pre-sales on Sunday contributed ₹8.60 crore, taking the total India net collection to ₹37.10 crore within its first 24 hours.

Overseas, MSVPG has performed strongly, crossing the $1.2 million mark in North America, with a major share coming from US premiere shows. The film also witnessed robust advance bookings, reflecting solid audience interest ahead of its release.

With these numbers, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has emerged as Chiranjeevi’s second-biggest worldwide opening after Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy , which had opened at around ₹85 crore. The film has also outperformed several recent releases, including Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar , which opened at ₹28 crore. However, it remains behind recent big-ticket openers such as The Raja Saab (₹62.9 crore) and OG (₹84 crore).

Importantly, the film has shown a significant improvement over Chiranjeevi’s previous release Bhola Shankar , which had managed an opening of ₹16.25 crore, indicating a strong comeback at the box office.

Starring Chiranjeevi alongside Venkatesh, Nayanthara and Catherine Tresa, the film is expected to benefit further from the ongoing Sankranti holiday season, with trade analysts anticipating sustained momentum over the festive week.
