Sankranti celebrations light up Hyderabad skies today

Sankranti festivities are set to soar high in the skies of Hyderabad as the city prepares to witness a vibrant blend of tradition, culture and modern technology. With colourful kites, traditional sweets, hot air balloons and drone-based light shows , the city will be transformed into a grand festive spectacle. The government, in association with various organisations, has planned three major events as part of the celebrations.

International Kite and Sweets Festival

The International Kite and Sweets Festival will be held from January 13 to 15 at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds , from 10 am to 9 pm . Kite flyers from India and abroad will showcase their innovative and artistic kites, filling the sky with vivid colours. The festival will also feature traditional sweets from different States, local art displays and cultural performances , adding to the festive atmosphere.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

The Hot Air Balloon Festival is scheduled from January 16 to 18 , again at the Parade Grounds , and will run from 4 pm to 9 pm . During the event, brightly coloured hot air balloons will ascend into the sky, offering mesmerising visuals. Visitors will also get opportunities to take photographs and view the city from an elevated height .

Drone Festival at Gachibowli

Simultaneously, a Drone Festival will be organised at the Gachibowli Stadium on January 16 and 17 , from 9.30 am to 8 pm . The event will feature advanced drone technology, impressive light shows and innovative aerial displays , promising a captivating experience for the public.
