Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the ‘Sanjeevani’ digital healthcare programme will be launched across Andhra Pradesh from August 15 , with the government aiming to strengthen access to modern medical services through technology-driven healthcare.

Addressing a public gathering in Kandriga village of Chittoor district, Naidu said the programme, which began as a pilot project in Kuppam in 2025 , has already shown encouraging results in Chittoor district, where authorities are monitoring the health profiles of nearly 19.75 lakh people.

The Chief Minister described Sanjeevani as a full-fledged digital public health platform designed to securely maintain medical records and simplify access to healthcare services. Through the system, patients will be able to book doctor appointments, access virtual consultations and receive medical advice remotely. The government is also preparing to introduce AI-based healthcare support as part of the next phase of the project.

Naidu said the initiative is focused on predictive , preventive and curative healthcare, with greater emphasis on early detection of diseases. Under the programme, healthcare teams are conducting 42 types of medical tests at people’s homes to identify health risks before they become serious.

Stressing the need to reduce the financial burden of treatment on families, the Chief Minister said the state has allocated ₹19,305 crore to the health sector in the latest budget. He added that Andhra Pradesh received ₹2,601 crore in health grants under the 15th Finance Commission.

The government also plans to expand medical coverage under its Universal Health Policy, offering healthcare benefits worth up to ₹2.5 lakh for citizens. Assistance of up to ₹25 lakh will also be available in critical cases through NTR Vaidya Seva and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Calling for healthier lifestyles, Naidu urged people to focus on balanced diets, exercise, yoga and meditation, saying preventive healthcare begins with daily habits and nutrition.

The Chief Minister further highlighted the government’s environmental and irrigation initiatives, claiming that groundwater levels in Annamayya district have improved significantly due to conservation measures. He reiterated the government’s commitment to completing major irrigation projects across Rayalaseema by 2028 to improve water availability and support regional development.
