A new Hindi feature film led by Sanjay Dutt has been officially announced, with its first-look poster unveiled and a global theatrical release scheduled for May 15, 2026. Titled Aakhri Sawal , the project marks a significant collaboration between Dutt and co-producer Nikhil Nanda.

The film brings together a diverse ensemble cast including Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy who returns to the screen after a hiatus along with Tridha Choudhury and Neetu Chandra.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the film is positioned as a historical-political drama. It traces key moments linked to the ideological and institutional journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), spanning from the pre-Independence period to the Emergency era, drawing from real-life events to frame its narrative.

The announcement comes at a time when Dutt continues to maintain a strong presence across industries and genres. In recent years, he has featured in large-scale commercial projects such as Baaghi 4 and Housefull 5 , while also taking on prominent roles in films like Dhurandhar and the multi-language release The Raja Saab (2026). His continued involvement in high-profile productions underscores his sustained presence in mainstream cinema.

Industry observers have taken note of the announcement, with trade analyst Komal Nahta describing it as a major project backed by a strong creative and production team.

With its blend of historical subject matter and established performers, Aakhri Sawal is expected to draw significant attention in the lead-up to its release.
