Sangareddy Gets a Boost: Minister Damodar Launches Key Projects

The State Government is continuously striving to enhance citizens’ quality of life through infrastructure development, said State Medical and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha . During his visit to Sangareddy district on Tuesday, the minister inaugurated several key development projects and distributed financial assistance under welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries.

At a program held at PSR Garden, Sangareddy town , Minister Rajanarsimha, along with TGIIC Chairperson Nirmala Jaggareddy , distributed cheques to 254 beneficiaries under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes . The cheques, totaling ₹2.54 crore , are intended to support the wedding expenses of families from economically weaker sections. The minister emphasized that the government ensures welfare benefits reach every eligible individual.

Following this, the minister laid the foundation for various infrastructure development works within the Sangareddy municipality . At a function held at the municipal office, projects worth a total of ₹31.70 crore were formally inaugurated. Using HMDA funds , construction of roads and sewage lines worth ₹8 crore and beautification works at Rajiv Park under CDA funds were launched. Under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme , projects worth ₹18.70 crore for roads, drainage, and solid waste management were initiated. Additionally, the minister inaugurated CC road construction and filter bed repairs from Rajampet to Hostel Gadda, funded at ₹2 crore through HMDA.

Minister Rajanarsimha stated that improved roads, drainage, parks, and waste management would make towns cleaner and safer. He assured that the government would provide all necessary support to make Sangareddy municipality a model town .

Interest-Free Loans for Women’s Self-Help Groups in Andol

In a program held at Sriram Function Hall, Jogipet , the minister distributed interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in the Andol-Jogipet area. A total of 327 SHGs , comprising approximately 3,400 members , benefited from the scheme.

The minister emphasized that empowering women’s SHGs remains a key government priority. He announced that ₹4 crore will be allocated for constructing SHG buildings in Jogipet and Andol to facilitate meetings and expand their activities. He highlighted the crucial role of women’s groups in creating employment opportunities and recalled the pioneering efforts of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy , who introduced loan schemes for mandal associations and interest-free loans, establishing a culture of timely repayments.

Minister Rajanarsimha further explained that the current government continues to provide interest-free loans across the state , covering approximately ₹40,000 crore worth of loans. He added that establishing industries in the Andol region would further increase employment opportunities for local women . Other initiatives being implemented include housing for the poor, distribution of quality sarees to women, provision of fine rice, and improved RTC bus services .
