Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s emotional video on ‘Shiva’ re-release goes viral
From one generation to the next, King Nagarjuna has remained a heartthrob fondly remembered as the charming “Manmadhudu” and a true icon of Telugu cinema. Among his many memorable films, Shiva (1989) stands tall as a timeless masterpiece that changed the course of Indian cinema. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Shiva redefined student politics, mass action, and cinematic style, while Ilaiyaraaja’s music added to its lasting magic.
Over three decades later, the cult classic is making a grand comeback for a new generation. The film is set to re-release in theatres on November 14, digitally remastered in 4K quality with Dolby Atmos sound. Promotions for the re-release are in full swing, with celebrities like Allu Arjun, Sekhar Kammula, and Ashutosh Gowariker showering praise on the film.
Recently, Arjun Reddy and Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga joined the list, sharing an emotional video about how Shiva deeply influenced him.
In his words, “Like everyone else, Shiva had a huge impact on me. Some scenes are still etched in my memory. It made people think and talk. No other film had delivered such a shock before. I’ll definitely be there for the first-day, first-show of the re-release!” said Sandeep with excitement.
Responding to the video, Nagarjuna took to X (formerly Twitter), sharing it with a heartfelt message: “Thanks, Sandeep… You’re a pathbreaker!”
The tweet and Vanga’s emotional video have since gone viral across social media. More tributes from celebrities are expected soon, as Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya reportedly plan special promotions for the re-release. Fans, old and new alike, are eager to relive the Shiva magic once again this time on the big screen, in all its restored glory.
