Sanathnagar ‘TIMS’ to be inaugurated on Ugadi

The state government has finalized plans to inaugurate the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital on the occasion of Ugadi , with the objective of providing corporate-level super-speciality healthcare services free of cost to the poor .

Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha directed officials to expedite construction works, installation of equipment and all arrangements related to the commencement of medical services.

At a high-level review meeting held at the Arogyasri Trust office in Hyderabad, the minister assessed the progress of works, including recruitment of doctors and staff. Officials informed him that infrastructure works at the 1,000-bed hospital have reached the final stage.

They stated that 16 operation theatres are ready for surgeries and that installation of advanced diagnostic equipment such as CT scan, MRI and digital X-ray machines has been completed. The minister instructed that the remaining works be finished by the second week of March , and that necessary training for technicians and medical staff be completed prior to inauguration.

He said special arrangements are being made to develop Sanathnagar TIMS as a Centre of Excellence in cardiac care and organ transplantation , with cath labs and dedicated transplant theatres.

Sanathnagar TIMS has been constructed as a major government super-speciality hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 900 crore to Rs 1,100 crore .
