Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaaram Postponed To June 19 Amid IPL Playoff Season
Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s much-awaited Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaaram has officially postponed its theatrical release from May 15 to June 19 , with the makers opting to avoid the peak phase of the ongoing Indian Premier League playoffs season.
The film is being produced under Samantha’s banner, Tralala Moving Pictures , and directed by filmmaker Nandini Reddy . Industry circles believe the decision was taken strategically, as IPL playoffs beginning May 26 are expected to dominate television and streaming viewership across the Telugu states, potentially affecting theatre footfalls.
Positioned as a family entertainer with strong action elements, the film features Samantha in a bold and emotionally intense role. The cast also includes Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale in key roles . Music for the film has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
The announcement was accompanied by fresh posters from the film, which quickly gained traction on social media. While many fans welcomed the new promotional material and expressed excitement for Samantha’s return to the big screen, some were disappointed over the month-long delay.
With the revised release plan, June is shaping up to be a competitive month for Telugu cinema. Peddi starring Ram Charan is scheduled for release on June 4, followed by Sing Geetham on June 11, setting the stage for a packed theatrical lineup ahead of Samantha’s release on June 19.
