Salman Khan's much-delayed war drama 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace' is finally moving closer to the big screen, with the makers reportedly preparing to unveil its theatrical trailer on November 6. According to an exclusive report by Variety India, a grand launch event is being planned in Mumbai to coincide with the Dhanteras celebrations.

The trailer has already received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A 16+ certificate. Interestingly, it has a runtime of 4 minutes and 43 seconds, making it one of the longest theatrical trailers in Indian cinema. The unusually long promotional asset has raised curiosity about how the makers intend to introduce the film's story and characters.

Originally announced as 'Battle of Galwan', the film was later renamed 'Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace'. The project reportedly underwent significant changes after concerns were raised over its portrayal of the India-China conflict. The revised version subsequently received a reported No Objection Certificate from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, following changes intended to present India-China relations in a more positive light.

The film is inspired by the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Salman Khan portrays an Indian Army officer based on Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, who led soldiers of the 16 Bihar Regiment during the confrontation. The real-life clash resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers.

Chitrangda Singh plays the female lead, while Apoorva Lakhia has directed the film. Produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films, the project also features several actors in supporting roles.

Interestingly, Salman has already offered audiences a musical glimpse of the film through the song 'Teri Sexy Beauty', which he has also sung. The track features Chitrangda Singh alongside the actor.

Despite the latest promotional developments, the film's theatrical release date remains uncertain. The makers have not officially announced a fresh release date, and the movie itself is yet to receive CBFC certification.
