SAI Launches Youth Engagement Drive For CWG 2030 In Ahmedabad
In a bid to build early excitement for the 2030 Commonwealth Games (CWG) , which will be hosted in Ahmedabad, India , the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Tuesday announced three nationwide youth engagement initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and participation among citizens, especially young people.
The Commonwealth Games 2030 , a major international multi-sport event held every four years, will bring together athletes from across the Commonwealth of Nations , featuring competition in multiple Olympic and non-Olympic sports. The Ahmedabad edition is being viewed as a key opportunity for India to showcase its growing sports infrastructure and organisational capabilities on a global stage.
To support the build-up, SAI has launched three digital and creative contests under the MyBharat platform: the ‘CWG 2030 Torch Design Contest’ , the ‘CWG Reel Challenge’ , and the ‘Commonwealth Games 2030 Quiz’ .
The Torch Design Contest invites participants to design a torch concept inspired by India’s culture, heritage, innovation, sustainability, and sporting excellence . Entries can be submitted in digital or hand-drawn formats along with an optional concept note of up to 200 words. The contest began on Monday and will conclude on May 20 . Winners will receive Fit India hampers and recognition certificates , while eligible participants will be awarded digital participation certificates.
The CWG Reel Challenge , which began on May 7 and runs until May 16, encourages participants to create original 60-second reels highlighting India’s evolving sporting culture, grassroots sports infrastructure, and fitness movement . Only one entry per participant is allowed.
The third initiative, the Commonwealth Games 2030 Quiz , consists of 10 multiple-choice questions to be answered within five minutes. Participants must score at least 8 marks to qualify. The quiz, which began on May 9, will remain open until September 26 , with the top five performers announced weekly.
SAI said the initiatives aim to engage youth, promote sports awareness, and build national excitement ahead of India hosting one of the world’s biggest multi-sport events in 2030.
