Sai Eeshwar's Death is Unfortunate.. Do Not Commit Sacrifices: Minister Ponnam

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed his profound sorrow and called the death of Sai Eeshwar, a youth who set himself on fire alleging injustice to Backward Classes (BCs) and later succumbed to injuries, unfortunate. The Minister appealed to citizens not to resort to such "sacrifices" and assured that the government would extend full support to Sai Eeshwar's family. Addressing the issue of social justice, Minister Prabhakar asserted the Congress government's commitment, highlighting the recent Caste Survey conducted and enacted into law. Furthermore, he announced the government's readiness to challenge the 50% reservation limit stipulated by the Indira Sawhney case (Krishnamurthy Judgment) in the Supreme Court, seeking to push beyond the existing ceiling. He called for suggestions if a better policy than the one adopted by the government exists.

Review on Panchayat Elections for Husnabad Constituency

In a separate engagement, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar presided over a crucial coordination meeting concerning the upcoming Panchayat elections at the MLA Camp Office for the Husnabad constituency. The meeting was attended by key party leaders and local functionaries from various Mandals. The Minister provided detailed direction and strategy on managing the Sarpanch elections, including planning strategies for specific villages and guiding party supporters toward victory. He set an ambitious target of 100% success for party candidates in every village across the constituency, urging all local leaders and workers to provide complete support to the contestants and intensify the campaign efforts.
