Rythu Seva Kendras to be reoriented to better serve farmers, says AP CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu today conducted a high-level review of the Agriculture Department at the Secretariat, emphasizing the need to strengthen farmer support and improve productivity across the state.

During the review, the Chief Minister directed the department to re-orient Rythu Seva Kendras (RSKs) to ensure they fully serve farmers who depend on agriculture and allied sectors. “RSKs should be designed to be the primary channel for delivering government services to farmers,” the CM said.

Highlighting the importance of soil health and productivity, the Chief Minister urged the department to adopt measures that enhance nutritional values in the soil, ensuring better crop yields. Officials were instructed to rectify existing mistakes in nutrient management and plan for sustainable improvements in the long term.

The Chief Minister also stressed the promotion of organic farming and the reduction of chemical fertilizer usage during the upcoming 2026 kharif season. He called on the department to raise awareness among farmers about the health and economic benefits of natural farming practices, ensuring that field-level staff fully understand and implement new directives.

“The success of any agricultural reform depends on the farmers and officials at the grassroots level,” the CM added, emphasizing that all changes should be effectively communicated and executed across the state.

The review comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen RSKs, which were originally established under the previous TDP government and have since been expanded and revamped by the YSRCP administration to better serve the farming community. The Chief Minister’s directives aim to make these centers fully functional, farmer-centric, and aligned with sustainable agricultural practices.

Officials present at the meeting assured the CM that steps would be taken immediately to implement these reforms, with regular monitoring to track progress and outcomes.
