“Run for Unity” marks National Unity Day in Telangana

As part of the National Unity Day celebrations themed “Ek Bharat - Atmanirbhar Bharat”, Telangana held a special “Run for Unity” event on Friday. The event was flagged off by celebrated actor Chiranjeevi and Telangana DGP Shivdhar Reddy, serving as the chief guests.

The occasion also commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key architect of India’s unity after independence. Chiranjeevi, in his social media post, praised Patel as a visionary leader who successfully united India’s diverse princely states into a single nation. He highlighted Patel’s determination, leadership skills, and enduring contributions to nation-building.

Across Telangana, various government and police-led events emphasized the values of unity, integrity, and patriotism. In Hyderabad, the main celebration took place at the DGP’s office, organized under the guidance of DGP Shivdhar Reddy. Senior police officials, including City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, participated alongside staff in promoting Patel’s legacy.

Officials stressed that Sardar Patel’s dedication, hard work, and love for the country remain a guiding example for all Indians. They called on citizens to carry forward his vision of a united India, inspiring future generations to uphold the ideals of national integration.

The event successfully highlighted the spirit of National Unity Day, aiming to instill Patel’s inspiration and commitment among the people of Telangana.
