
RRC South Eastern Railway Invites Applications for 1,785 Apprentice Posts
The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), South Eastern Railway, has issued an official notification for the engagement of 1,785 Apprentices across various workshops and units. The online application process was opened on 18 November 2025 and will remain active until 17 December 2025 . The recruitment is being conducted under the Apprentice Act, and applications have been sought from eligible candidates through the official website, rrcser.co.in .
According to the notification, candidates who have passed Class 10 and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognised institute are eligible to apply. The age limit has been fixed between 15 and 24 years as on 1 January 2026 , with relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms. Only Indian citizens, as specified in the notification, are eligible for the posts.
A total of 1,785 vacancies have been notified across several divisions, including Kharagpur, Chakradharpur, Adra, Ranchi, Santragachi, Bondamunda, TATA, Rourkela (ROU), Bokaro Steel City (BKSC) and SINI. Major allotments include 360 seats in Kharagpur Workshop , 121 in Carriage & Wagon Depot, Kharagpur , 100 in Engineering Workshop, SINI , 93 under Sr. DEE (G), Chakradharpur , and 72 in Electric Loco Shed, TATA . Smaller units such as TRD Depots, Diesel Loco Sheds, SSE (Works) units and electrical depots have also been included in the vacancy chart.
The selection of candidates will be carried out on the basis of a merit list , prepared from the marks obtained in Class 10 and ITI. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification , followed by a medical examination . No written examination or interview has been prescribed for the recruitment.
An application fee of ₹100 has been prescribed for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, PwD and women candidates are exempted from payment. The fee must be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
Applicants have been advised to visit the official website and access the “Apprentice Recruitment 2025” link. Candidates are required to register with a valid email ID and mobile number, fill in accurate personal and educational details, upload scanned documents including photograph, signature and certificates, and finally submit the form after paying the application fee. A printout of the submitted form has been advised for future reference.
The notification was released on 18 November 2025 , the same day the online registration window opened. The last date for submitting applications and paying the fee has been fixed as 17 December 2025 .
