
RRB NTPC Under Graduate Recruitment 2025 Deadline Extended to December 4
The online application process for 3,058 under-graduate level posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) has been opened by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), with eligible Class 12 pass candidates being invited to apply through the official RRB websites, including rrbchennai.gov.in. The notification has been issued for posts such as Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Clerk-cum-Typist and Trains Clerk, and the application deadline has been officially extended to December 4, 2025, from the earlier closing date of November 27.
According to the detailed vacancy list, 2,424 positions have been reserved for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, 394 for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, 163 for Junior Clerk-cum-Typist and 77 for Trains Clerk. As per eligibility rules, applicants must have completed the 12th (+2 stage) examination or its equivalent qualification with at least 50 per cent marks, while the 50 per cent mark requirement is not applied to SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-Servicemen and candidates possessing higher educational qualifications. Typing proficiency in English or Hindi on a computer has been prescribed as a mandatory skill for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist and Junior Clerk-cum-Typist posts.
The age limit has been set between 18 and 30 years as on January 1, 2026, with relaxations being applicable in accordance with government norms. Salaries have been notified as ₹21,700 for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and ₹19,900 for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Clerk-cum-Typist and Trains Clerk. Application fees have been fixed at ₹500 for general category candidates, while a reduced fee of ₹250 has been offered to SC, ST, PwBD, female, transgender, minority, Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates and ex-servicemen.
As part of the updated schedule, online applications are being accepted from October 28, 2025, to December 4, 2025, fee payments will be allowed until December 6, the modification window will remain open from December 7 to 16 and the scribe detail submission window for eligible candidates will be available from December 17 to 21. Only one application per candidate has been permitted, and any attempt to submit multiple applications to the same RRB or different RRBs will lead to rejection and disqualification.
The selection process will be conducted through a First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), Second Stage CBT, a Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) where applicable and the Document Verification and Medical Examination stages. The RRB has stated that selections will be made strictly on merit based on performance in these recruitment stages. Examination dates, venues and other related details will be announced in due course through the official websites of the respective boards. Applicants have been advised to fill the online form carefully, as no corrections will be allowed after submission, and the CBT will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages to ensure wider accessibility.
