RRB NTPC UG deadline extended to Dec 4

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued the RRB NTPC Under-Graduate Recruitment Notification (CEN 07/2025), announcing 3,058 vacancies across four Non-Technical Popular Categories for 12th-pass candidates. These include Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk (2,424 posts, Level 3), and Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Clerk-cum-Typist and Trains Clerk (634 posts, Level 2). The posts come with 7th CPC pay scales ₹19,900 to ₹21,700 basic pay along with standard Railway allowances and benefits.

A major development is the Corrigendum-1, which extends several key deadlines. The last date for submitting online applications is now 4 December 2025 (11.59 pm). The fee payment deadline is 6 December 2025, the application modification window will remain open from 7–16 December 2025, and the scribe registration window is fixed for 17–21 December 2025. The crucial date for possessing educational qualifications and category certificates is also revised to 4 December aa. The cut-a date for age calculation stays unchanged at 1 January 2026, with the age limit set at 18–30 years, alongside relaxations for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwBD candidates, Ex-Servicemen, Railway staff, and widowed/divorced women.

The recruitment follows a completely online selection process: CBT-1, CBT-2, a Computer-Based Typing Skill Test for designated clerk-cum-typist posts, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. CBT-1 works as a screening exam with 100 objective questions covering General Awareness (40), Mathematics (30) and Reasoning (30) with one-third negative marking. CBT-2 evaluates the same subjects at a higher difficulty level and holds greater weightage in final merit. Typing tests are mandatory for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist and Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, but not required for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk or Trains Clerk.

The syllabus is common for both CBTs and spans current affairs, history, polity, economy, geography, computers, Railways, mathematics fundamentals, algebra, geometry, statistics and diverse reasoning topics. Final shortlisting depends primarily on CBT-2 scores, reservation rules and qualifying status in the typing test. Selected candidates must clear Railway medical standards—A-3 (Trains Clerk), B-2 (Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk) and C-2 (Accounts/Junior Clerk), with strict norms on vision, physical ability and post-surgery conditions.

The entire application journey, from registration to issuing e-call letters, is conducted online using Aadhaar/DigiLocker-based verification, and candidates may apply to only one RRB, giving ordered post and zone preferences. Aspirants must align preparation with the official pattern and deadlines to succeed.
