T he Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the much-awaited Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Graduate Recruitment 2025–26, inviting applications for 5,810 vacancies across various categories including Station Master, Traffic Assistant, Clerk, and Goods Train Manager. The notification, issued under CEN No. 06/2025, was released earlier this month, with the online application process commencing on October 21 and continuing until November 20, 2025.

The RRB recruitment drive aims to fill positions in several zones of Indian Railways, providing significant opportunities for graduates aspiring for government service. The posts include Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor (161 posts), Station Master (615), Goods Train Manager (3,416), Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist (921), Senior Clerk Cum Typist (638), and Traffic Assistant (59). The initial pay for these posts ranges from ₹25,500 to ₹35,400 under the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

According to the notification, candidates possessing a degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply. Typing proficiency in English or Hindi on a computer is mandatory for certain posts such as Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist. The age limit for applicants is between 18 and 33 years as of January 1, 2026, with relaxation applicable to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.

The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages, including Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT-1), Computer-Based Test 2 (CBT-2), followed by a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for relevant categories. Candidates who qualify in these stages will be called for document verification and medical examination before final appointment.

To ensure accuracy and transparency, the RRB has introduced a mandatory “Create an Account” step before submitting applications. Applicants must register on the official website of the concerned RRB using a valid personal mobile number and email ID. Once created, these details cannot be modified, emphasizing the need for caution while entering personal information.

The RRB has also advised candidates to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar through DigiLocker during the registration process to enable faster and smoother verification. Those opting for alternate identification methods will undergo stricter scrutiny during later stages of recruitment.

The application fee has been fixed at ₹500 for general category candidates and ₹250 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, minority, or economically backward categories. The last date for payment of the examination fee is November 22, 2025, while the correction window for modifying application details (excluding account and RRB choice) will remain open from November 23 to December 2, 2025. Eligible candidates who require scribes will be allowed to submit their scribe details between December 3 and 7, 2025.

The RRB has urged all applicants to read the detailed Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) carefully before applying online to avoid errors that may lead to disqualification. The recruitment process is expected to draw a large number of applications, given the scale of vacancies and the popularity of railway jobs among graduates.

Aspiring candidates can submit their applications and access the full notification through the official RRB website at www.rrbchennai.gov.in or other regional RRB portals.

With this announcement, the Railway Recruitment Board has once again opened the doors for thousands of young graduates seeking stable and prestigious employment in the public sector. The RRB NTPC Graduate Recruitment 2025–26 represents not just a job opportunity, but a significant step toward strengthening the operational workforce of Indian Railways.
