
RRB Application Deadline Extended to December 10
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued the official Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 05/2025 for the recruitment of 2,569 Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts across all RRBs. The notification has been released on the respective RRB websites, and online applications have been invited from eligible engineering graduates and diploma holders.
The recruitment drive has been opened to candidates possessing three-year diplomas or B.E./B.Tech degrees in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Automobile, and other related engineering streams from recognised institutions. The eligibility norms have been kept in line with the existing recruitment standards of the Railways.

The vacancies for RCF, Kapurthala under RRB Jammu–Srinagar and ICF, Chennai under RRB Chennai have been revised, while all other terms and conditions of the original notification remain unchanged.
Candidates who had already applied under the earlier schedule have been permitted to modify their choice of RRB, post preference, and Zonal Railway/Production Unit without any modification fee. The modification facility has been activated from 25 November 2025 and will continue until the revised closing date. The windows for fee payment, application corrections, and submission of scribe details have also been extended in accordance with the new schedule.
As per the notification, the age limit has been fixed at 18 to 33 years as on 1 January 2026, with statutory relaxations applicable to reserved categories. The posts carry a starting pay of ₹35,400 under Pay Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The selection process will be conducted in four stages, consisting of Computer Based Test (CBT-I), CBT-II, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The dates for the computer-based examinations will be announced later by the Board. It has been reiterated by the RRB that only online applications submitted through the official regional websites will be accepted, and candidates have been advised to review their entries carefully before final submission. It has also been clarified that the application will be treated as accepted only after the successful receipt of the examination fee.
The application fee has been fixed at ₹500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and all female applicants are required to pay ₹250. No fee has been prescribed for transgender applicants. Notifications and important links, including the detailed advertisement and modification notice, have been made available on all RRB regional portals.
The RRB has stated that further updates regarding the release of admit cards, CBT schedules, and other recruitment-related announcements will be issued in due course.
