Royal Enfield Rides Into Andhra Pradesh With ₹2,200 Crore Mega Manufacturing Hub
Andhra Pradesh has landed yet another marquee industrial investment, as premium motorcycle maker Royal Enfield announced plans to establish a massive manufacturing facility in the state. The company, a subsidiary of Eicher Motors , will invest around ₹2,200 crore to set up an advanced production plant along with a dedicated vendor park near Satyavedu in Tirupati district .
The proposal received formal approval during the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu . Notably, the upcoming Andhra Pradesh unit will be Royal Enfield’s first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu, where its operations have traditionally been based.
The project is expected to significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s automobile manufacturing ecosystem while creating nearly 5,000 employment opportunities , both directly and indirectly. State officials said the company was impressed by the government’s proactive industrial policies, investor-friendly approach, and improving infrastructure network.
For the project, the state government has allotted land in Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages of Satyavedu mandal. Once completed, the facility is expected to enhance Royal Enfield’s annual production capacity to about 9 lakh units , further reinforcing India’s standing as a global hub for premium motorcycle manufacturing.
Apart from the core manufacturing unit, a specialised vendor park will also be developed to accommodate component suppliers and ancillary industries. Industry experts believe the project could act as a catalyst for the development of a large automobile cluster in South Andhra Pradesh.
The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase scheduled for completion by 2029 and the second phase targeted by 2032 .
Welcoming the investment, IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh said the government is aggressively pursuing investments in mobility, electronics, and renewable energy sectors. He expressed confidence that the Royal Enfield project would accelerate industrial growth and economic activity across the southern region of the state.
