Hollywood stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have extended their Diwali wishes to Indian fans through a special video message, offering a festive surprise ahead of their upcoming Marvel film 'Avengers: Doomsday'.

In a video shared by Marvel India, the actors greeted audiences across the country and reflected on the festival's significance. “Namaste India!” they said, describing Diwali as a celebration that marks the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another.

Drawing a humorous comparison with their upcoming film, the actors suggested that their cinematic journey might move in the opposite direction, from light towards darkness, before wishing fans a happy Diwali. They also teased their return to the Marvel universe, saying they would see audiences in 'Avengers: Doomsday'.

The film is scheduled to arrive in Indian theatres on December 17, 2026, a day before its release in the United States. The early release gives Indian audiences an opportunity to watch the much-anticipated superhero spectacle ahead of American viewers.

Downey Jr. will portray Doctor Doom, one of the Marvel universe's most formidable antagonists, while Evans returns as Steve Rogers, the character closely associated with Captain America. However, the makers have kept most details of the film's storyline under wraps.

Speculation has also surrounded the involvement of actress Huller, with theories suggesting that her character could be connected to Doctor Doom's mother or might be one of the Latverian witches.

The makers recently unveiled the film's second trailer during Disney's D23 fan convention. The two-minute preview offers a closer look at Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom and teases confrontations involving some of the Marvel universe's biggest superhero teams, including the Fantastic Four, Avengers and X-Men.

With the return of familiar characters, a powerful new adversary and an early theatrical release in India, 'Avengers: Doomsday' is building anticipation among Marvel fans worldwide.
