Revolutionary reforms in stamps & registrations department: Minister Ponguleti

The Telangana government is implementing key reforms to make the Stamps and Registrations Department transparent, corruption-free and more citizen-centric , said State Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday. He said the department is being comprehensively modernised in line with the vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy .

The Minister laid the foundation stone for the Integrated Sub-Registrar Office at Kukatpally in Medchal–Malkajgiri district . Speaking on the occasion, he outlined the major modernization initiatives planned for the department to meet future requirements.

He said the government will establish state-of-the-art Integrated Sub-Registrar Offices with corporate-level facilities in a phased manner . In the first phase, offices will be developed within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits , followed by similar facilities at district headquarters and Assembly constituency centres .

In the first phase , 39 Sub-Registrar Offices across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts will be developed into 12 clusters , the Minister said. He clarified that the project would be implemented without any financial burden on the government . Private builders will construct the offices and also take responsibility for their maintenance for five years , he added.

The Minister emphasised that the government’s objective is to transform the Stamps and Registrations Department from a revenue-collection office into a public service-oriented institution . He said special focus is being placed on protecting lands belonging to the poor and safeguarding government lands .

Warning against illegal land occupation, the Minister said the government would take stringent action against land grabbers and would not tolerate encroachments under any circumstances . At the same time, he assured that fair compensation would be provided to beneficiaries if assigned lands are acquired for public purposes .

The new offices are being designed to provide comprehensive facilities for women visiting with children, newly married couples registering marriages, senior citizens and the general public , he said. The government is focusing on improving infrastructure and ensuring quick resolution of public grievances through convenient, transparent and corruption-free services .

The Minister expressed confidence that these reforms will significantly enhance public trust in the Stamps and Registrations Department and substantially improve the quality of services .
