Republic Day Security: Drones Grounded in Malkajgiri

In view of public safety and law and order, the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has issued special directives ahead of the 77th Republic Day celebrations. Security measures have been significantly tightened for the official Republic Day events scheduled on January 26, 2026 , at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds .

As part of the precautions, the police have banned the flying of drones, paragliders, and remote-controlled microlight aircraft . The restriction will be in effect from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM . Authorities have specifically stated that Begumpet, Market, and Maredpally police station jurisdictions will strictly enforce these orders.

With VIPs, senior officials, and public representatives attending the Parade Grounds events, police emphasized that the measures are intended to prevent any untoward incidents. Officials warned that strict action under the law will be taken against anyone violating the orders .
