Religious Music Row Sparks Communally Sensitive Tension in Kamareddy

A dispute at a shopping mall in Banswada triggered tension between two groups on Friday evening, prompting police intervention to prevent the situation from escalating further.

According to officials, a man visiting the mall objected to religious music being played on the premises and began recording the scene on his mobile phone. A female staff member objected to the filming, leading to a heated argument that soon escalated into a scuffle between the man and mall employees. The man sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.

As news of the incident spread, people from different communities gathered near the mall, increasing tensions in the area. The situation worsened when unidentified individuals allegedly resorted to stone-pelting , triggering panic and causing property damage in the vicinity.

Police rushed to the spot and conducted a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore law and order . Additional security forces were deployed, and patrolling was intensified to prevent further disturbances. Authorities confirmed that the situation is now under control and peace has been restored.

A case registered and an investigation is underway to identify those involved in the violence. Officials urged residents not to spread rumours on social media and appealed for communal harmony and public cooperation.
