In a significant decision aimed at benefiting farmers who provided their assigned lands for the construction of Andhra Pradesh's capital city, the state government has announced a new policy. It has been decided that the returnable plots given to these farmers will now be issued as "patta" lands instead of "assigned" lands.

This decision comes after farmers brought to the government's attention the difficulties they faced in selling their plots due to their "assigned" status. During a recent cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu addressed this issue and directed officials to convert the land status to patta for all eligible farmers.

Following the Chief Minister's directive, the Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, Suresh Kumar, issued a Government Order (G.O.) to formalize the change, providing relief to the farmers.
