Reliance Foundation Trains 3 Lakh Youth, 1.8 Lakh Secure Jobs Across India

Reliance Foundation on Thursday showcased fresh progress in its skilling push at the 21st Century Skills Conclave in Mumbai, saying its programmes have now reached more than 12 lakh people , with 3 lakh+ youth trained and 1.8 lakh+ securing employment across sectors.

Speakers and panellists framed the milestone against India’s broader national effort to expand vocational capacity. Government data and recent ministry summaries show the Skill India Mission and flagship schemes such as PMKVY and apprenticeship initiatives have trained and engaged millions over the last decade underscoring both progress and the scale of demand for employer-ready skills. Positioning Reliance’s achievement within that national picture helps explain why industry–government partnerships are being emphasised at the conclave.

Reliance described a three-pronged approach: targeted soft skills (communication, critical thinking) for graduates; curriculum alignment with academia and regulators; and large-scale digital learning via the Reliance Foundation Skilling Academy , which offers over 100 free courses aimed at delivering international-level, work-relevant training to learners at home. Event remarks highlighted the growing focus on AI and Industry 4.0 competencies in curricula and short courses, reflecting both employer demand and recent government pushes for AI readiness.

Officials from NSDC and AICTE joined industry leaders to underline the reciprocal benefits: corporates gain a deeper talent pipeline while institutions get help to make programmes more job-aligned. NSDC representatives said the partnership model has already enabled thousands to move into employment, and that plans are in place to scale outreach in the next phase. The conclave also showcased individual success stories around 40 trained achievers were felicitated and beneficiaries shared how skilling translated into jobs and improved confidence.

While Celebrations continued, analysts at the event urged sustained focus on quality of placements , local job creation, and stronger links between short-term courses and formal vocational credentials points that will determine whether skilling converts into long-term livelihood gains at scale. Reliance officials reiterated their goal of continuous learning, digital upskilling, and making youth “active participants” in India’s economic future.
