Rededicate Ourselves To Chakali Ailamma’s Ideals: Etela Rajender

BJP MP Etela Rajender paid floral tributes to Telangana’s celebrated freedom fighter Chakali Ailamma on her birth anniversary at Sikh Village in the Secunderabad Cantonment area on Saturday.

Rajender garlanded Ailamma’s statue at a programme organised in Ward 3 of the Cantonment, which falls under the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency. Leaders and members of the community recalled her courageous struggle against the oppressive rule of the Nizam and the Razakars.

Remembering Ailamma’s fight for land, livelihood and freedom from bonded labour, Rajender said her life and struggle continued to inspire people fighting for social justice and the rights of marginalised communities.

He called upon people to rededicate themselves to fulfilling Ailamma’s ideals and carry forward the values for which she stood. He said her determination and courage had made her an enduring symbol of resistance and social justice in Telangana.

The programme was attended by Secunderabad Cantonment Board member Banuka Narmada Mallikarjun, former corporator Kontham Deepika Naresh, District DISHA Committee member Parashuram, former Cantonment vice-president Sada Keshava Reddy, B.N. Srinivas, Cantonment Assembly convenor Vijayanand and Ward 3 president Arun.

Leaders of the Rajaka community, party functionaries and workers also participated in the programme and paid their respects to Ailamma.
