Red Fort Celebrates Andhra Pradesh Day with Kuchipudi, Tourism, Handlooms

On January 30, 2026, Andhra Pradesh Day was celebrated at the historic Red Fort in New Delhi as part of Bharat Parv 2026 , the national festival organized by the Ministry of Tourism during Republic Day celebrations. The event highlighted the rich cultural, artistic, and tourism heritage of the state and served as a national platform promoting the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

A major attraction was a grand Kuchipudi classical dance performance by 46 distinguished artists, showcasing the grace, elegance, and spiritual depth of Andhra Pradesh’s classical dance tradition. The state’s pavilion also featured a theme-based tourism display, traditional food court, and exquisite handloom exhibition , giving visitors an immersive experience of Andhra Pradesh’s historical legacy and creative excellence.

While Andhra Pradesh Day was specially celebrated on January 30 at Bharat Parv, the official Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day is traditionally observed on 1 November each year, commemorating the 1956 merger of the Telugu-speaking areas of the Madras Presidency with Hyderabad State. This date was officially restored by the YSRCP government in 2019 after historical debates over its significance following the 2014 bifurcation.

Bharat Parv 2026 is a pan-India festival , featuring cultural showcases from 34 states and Union Territories . Other notable performances included Telangana’s Perini Shiva Tandavam dance , Maharashtra’s tourism and heritage displays , and pavilions from Chandigarh and various other regions , all attracting large numbers of visitors. In addition, 41 state tableaux were on display, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The celebrations culminate on January 31, 2026 , with a grand closing ceremony , graced by the Vice President of India as Chief Guest , further reinforcing the festival’s role in promoting cultural exchange, national integration, and pride in India’s diversity.
