
Red chillies VFX marks 20 years of transforming Indian cinema
Red Chillies VFX, the visual effects arm of Red Chillies Entertainment, has completed two decades of redefining cinematic storytelling in India, celebrating a journey that began with an ambitious vision to deliver world-class VFX from within the country.
Founded under the leadership of actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan, the studio set out in 2006 to elevate the technical and creative standards of Indian cinema. Over the years, it has grown into one of the country’s leading VFX powerhouses, contributing to more than 100 films with a team of over 500 artists and technicians .
In a statement marking the milestone, the company reflected on its evolution from pioneering superhero visuals and executing large-scale crowd simulations to crafting detailed facial transformations, complex action sequences, and immersive digital environments. The studio has also been recognised with a National Film Award, underscoring its impact on the industry.
Highlighting its journey, the team acknowledged the challenges of tight production schedules and high creative demands, noting that each project was driven by a commitment to delivering “perfect frames” on screen. The company also expressed gratitude to filmmakers for their trust and to audiences for embracing its work over the years.
Special recognition was given to Shah Rukh Khan for envisioning and nurturing the initiative, with the studio crediting his pursuit of innovation as a driving force behind its success.
As it steps into its third decade, Red Chillies VFX reaffirmed its focus on pushing creative boundaries and continuing to shape the future of Indian visual storytelling.
