Record-Breaking Run: ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ dominates global box office
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as a historic commercial success, amassing approximately ₹1,500 crore worldwide within just 15 days of its release, according to its makers.
Headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has set multiple industry benchmarks. It has become the fastest Indian film to cross ₹1,000 crore globally and now stands as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
The film’s earnings are split between strong domestic and international performances. In India, it has grossed over ₹1,100 crore, with net collections nearing the ₹1,000 crore mark, a milestone previously achieved by only a select few films such as Dangal. Overseas, it has earned ₹367 crore, setting new records in key markets like North America and surpassing the lifetime overseas earnings of its predecessor, Dhurandhar, within just 10 days.
Released on March 19 in multiple languages, the film’s wide reach has contributed significantly to its global success. Its storyline, set in Karachi’s Lyari region, combines crime drama with espionage elements, further broadening its appeal.
The performance underscores the growing global footprint of Indian cinema, particularly large-scale, multilingual productions backed by major studios like Jio Studios.
