Record-breaking investments in Visakhapatnam ahead of CII partnership summit
Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a new wave of industrial investments. On the eve of the prestigious 30th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit scheduled for November 14-15 in Visakhapatnam, the state government has already signed a record number of investment agreements.
On November 13 alone, 35 companies inked MoUs worth ₹3.65 lakh crore, promising to create employment for nearly 1.26 lakh people across various sectors.
High-level meetings with global and domestic industry leaders
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who arrived in Visakhapatnam to attend the summit, held a series of crucial meetings with global business leaders, diplomats, and industrialists throughout the day on Wednesday.
In the morning, he participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Partners in Progress: India-Europe Cooperation for Sustainable Growth” at Hotel Novotel, focusing on green transitions, sustainable innovation, and potential European investments in Andhra Pradesh.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister held bilateral meetings with delegations from Taiwan, Italy, Sweden, and the Netherlands, along with several top Indian industrialists including Alok Kirloskar (SPP Pumps), Sumant Sinha (ReNew Power), N.K. Agarwal (Action Tesa), Arun Alagappan (Murugappa Group), Shankar Subramanian (Coromandel International), and Rahul Munjal (Hero Future Energies).
Massive push in renewable energy
A major portion of the new investments is centered around the renewable energy sector.
ReNew Power, led by Chairman Sumant Sinha, signed an MoU to invest ₹82,000 crore in multiple projects including a 6 GW ingot-wafer plant, a 2 GW pumped hydro project, a 300 KTPA green ammonia unit, and 5 GW hybrid power projects.
This is particularly notable as ReNew Power had previously exited the state but is now returning with large-scale investments.
Similarly, Hero Future Energies will invest ₹15,000 crore in Anantapur, Kadapa, and Kurnool districts to set up 4 GW renewable energy projects.
Sumant Sinha praised the state’s proactive policies and added that his company is ready to supply power for the upcoming Google data center in the state.
Taiwan delegation commits major investments
A delegation from Taiwan, led by Ambassador Mumin Chen, also signed key investment deals with the Andhra Pradesh government.

• Balaji Action Buildwell Chairman N.K. Agarwal donated ₹1 crore to support the operation of government-run Anna Canteens.
Collaboration with Indian navy and vision for Visakhapatnam
During his visit, the Chief Minister also met Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Commander-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, to discuss collaboration in defence manufacturing, start-ups, and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives related to indigenous shipbuilding.
Chandrababu shared his vision of transforming Visakhapatnam into a Knowledge and Tourism Hub, proposing initiatives like a Navy Museum to promote awareness about the defence sector. The state government also assured land allocation for upcoming naval-related projects.
A strong message before the summit
By securing ₹3.65 lakh crore in investments even before the official start of the 30th CII Partnership Summit, the Andhra Pradesh government has sent a clear message that the state is back on the map for large-scale industrial growth, driven by business-friendly policies and visionary leadership.
