BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) reacted sharply to the criticism made by Congress Telangana PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud . While reiterating his stand on drugs, he expressed strong displeasure over his name being dragged into every political controversy.

KTR said drug abuse turns a human being into a monster and that it is unfortunate that even those holding responsible positions fall prey to such substances. “Personally, I am completely opposed to the use of drugs and illegal substances. Whoever is involved in using or supplying drugs irrespective of the political party they belong to must be punished strictly according to the law,” he said in a post on X.

However, he criticised attempts to target the BRS politically in the name of drug cases. KTR alleged that using the issue to spread propaganda against the BRS reflected “disgusting politics.”

Responding to Mahesh Kumar Goud’s suggestion that drug tests should be conducted for all public representatives, KTR said he had already stated several times that he was ready for any test. “I welcome the suggestion that public representatives from all political parties should undergo drug tests. Let us set an example for the people to come forward,” he said, throwing a counter-challenge.

At the same time, KTR expressed anger over his name and the BRS being dragged into every drug-related case. He warned that he would not remain silent if his name was unnecessarily linked to drug controversies and said he would take legal action if such allegations continued.
