Razorpay Enters Global Fintech Elite Again, Among Only Eight Indian Firms on CNBC-Statista List
Razorpay has secured a place in the 2026 edition of CNBC and Statista's World's Top Fintech Companies list for the fourth consecutive year, reinforcing not only its own position in the global payments industry but also India's growing stature as a fintech powerhouse.
The company is among only eight Indian firms to feature in this year's ranking and has been recognised in the Payments category. The list was compiled after evaluating more than 3,500 fintech companies across over 50 countries and territories, with only 500 companies making the final cut based on business performance, market impact, research and editorial review.
While the recognition is a milestone for Razorpay, it also reflects a broader shift in India's fintech ecosystem. Home-grown companies are increasingly competing on the global stage, driven by the country's booming digital payments market, rapid merchant digitisation and growing adoption of technology-led financial services.
Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, Razorpay has evolved from an online payment gateway into a full-stack financial platform offering payment processing, business banking, payroll, lending and cross-border payment solutions. Unlike consumer-focused payment apps, the company primarily builds financial infrastructure for businesses, enabling merchants to accept payments, automate financial operations and manage cash flows more efficiently.
The company has also expanded beyond India into Malaysia and Singapore, signalling ambitions to become a regional fintech player. Its latest recognition comes as it strengthens AI-powered financial services and business automation, areas widely expected to shape the next phase of the global fintech industry.
Commenting on the achievement, Harshil Mathur, CEO and Co-founder of Razorpay, said products built to address India's scale and complexity are increasingly setting global benchmarks. He added that the company remains focused on building intelligent, fast and trusted financial infrastructure for businesses.
Industry experts say the recognition is significant because it reflects consistent innovation and long-term execution, rather than short-term growth alone. Razorpay's fourth straight appearance alongside leading global fintech firms underscores how Indian companies are increasingly moving beyond the domestic market to build globally competitive financial technology solutions.
