
Ravi Teja’s 'Irumudi' Crosses Another Major Milestone at the Box Office
Irumudi has continued its strong box office run, with Ravi Teja’s emotional action drama recording the highest footfall for a Telugu film in 2026 on its first Sunday, after crossing Rs. 80 crore gross in its opening weekend according to the makers.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film has benefited from strong audience response and positive word of mouth since its release. The film achieved its opening weekend milestone without ticket price hikes or the advantage of a holiday.
The latest milestone further underlines the strong demand for Irumudi across the Telugu states. More than 405,000 tickets were sold through BookMyShow on Sunday, while several shows recorded housefulls across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The film had already crossed Rs. 50 crore in India net collections in its first three days. According to Cinema Express, Irumudi recorded Rs. 18.80 crore net on Sunday, taking its three day India total to Rs. 50.30 crore net and worldwide gross to Rs. 71.87 crore.
The Ravi Teja starrer also recorded strong ticket demand, with more than 2.5 million tickets reportedly sold across BookMyShow and District. Monday bookings have also remained encouraging, suggesting that the film could continue its strong run.
The emotional family drama features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Baby Nakshatra, Sai Kumar and Ajay Ghosh in important roles. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has G.V. Prakash Kumar composing the music.
Irumudi released on August 21, 2026, in Telugu and Tamil. Its strong theatrical response has made the film one of Ravi Teja’s biggest recent box office successes.
