Ravi Kishan Laughs Off Viral ‘Home From Work’ Blunder, Says ‘Bas Aana Hai Aur Viral Ho Jana Hai’

Actor-politician Ravi Kishan turned the trailer launch of Maa Behen into a laughter riot after joking about the viral memes surrounding his now-famous “home from work” slip-up.

At the Mumbai event on Friday, the BJP MP from Gorakhpur was asked about the viral moment in which he accidentally said “home from work” instead of “work from home” while speaking in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work-from-home campaign. The actor responded with his trademark humour, admitting he still has no idea why such moments instantly explode online.

“I swear on Mahadev, I’ve no idea why I keep going viral,” Kishan said. “I accidentally said ‘home from work’ and ‘jaldi the late’ . I was on my way to Parliament and wanted to say ‘work from home’, but ‘home from work’ slipped out instead.”

The actor added that people react to him “as if I’ve arrived from some completely different planet,” insisting he is simply human and bound to make mistakes. Even leaders within his own political party, he revealed, regularly tease him about his internet fame. “My superiors ask, ‘What exactly do you do?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know’,” he joked. Kishan then summed up his social media popularity with another punchline that quickly began trending online: “Bas aana hai aur viral ho jana hai.”

The actor also confidently predicted that Maa Behen would create similar chaos on social media. “This film will definitely go viral; it has all the right ingredients for it. Since I’m in it too, all I have to do is show up and go viral,” he said.

Directed by Suresh Triveni , the Netflix dark comedy stars Madhuri Dixit , Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durgaa as a wildly dysfunctional mother-daughter trio whose lives spiral out of control after a dead body suddenly appears inside their home .

Kishan reportedly plays the mysterious Gupta Ji, whose shocking death triggers the madness in Adarsh Colony. The trailer promises a whirlwind of cover-ups, neighbourhood gossip, emotional meltdowns and hilariously questionable decisions as the family desperately tries to hide the crime. Several viewers online have compared the film’s quirky vibe to movies like “Darlings” and “Govinda Naam Mera.”

Praising Dixit, Kishan said sharing screen space with her was a dream come true. “Not just me but the entire world is a fan of Madhuri ma’am,” he said, applauding her punctuality, dedication and effortless command over Kanpuriya-Bhojpuri and Gorakhpuriya-Bhojpuri dialects despite being Maharashtrian.
