
Rashtriya Khanij Chintan Shivir 2026 kicks off in Gandhinagar, Focus on Vikshit Bharat 2047
India’s mining sector received a fresh boost as the Rashtriya Khanij Chintan Shivir 2026 commenced in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with the aim of building a strong foundation for Vikshit Bharat 2047 . The conference, organized by the Ministry of Mines , brings together central and state ministers, senior officials, and experts to discuss reforms, innovation, and sustainable mineral development.
The Shivir was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel , along with Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy , Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil , Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Vijay Kumar Sinha , and Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey . The dignitaries highlighted the importance of efficient project execution, inter-departmental coordination , and technological advancement in mining.
Ministers of Mines from various states, supported by senior officials, shared insights on project implementation challenges, state-specific issues, and best practices . Sessions also reviewed ongoing projects, shared technical learnings, and explored innovative approaches for sustainable resource utilization .
In the evening, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya addressed participants, underlining the Shivir’s objectives and discussing the Labour Code to enhance workforce management and operational governance in the sector. The first day concluded with interactive discussions reinforcing cooperation and knowledge sharing between central and state stakeholders.
Day 2 of the Shivir will focus on the National Critical Mineral Mission , a key initiative to identify, promote, and strategically utilize India’s critical minerals to drive economic growth and support the vision of Vikshit Bharat 2047.

The initiative focuses on sustainable economic growth, infrastructure development, innovation, and efficient governance across key sectors, including mining, energy, and technology.
