Rapid progress on Saralamma main gate construction
Preparations are in full swing for the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, Asia’s largest tribal festival. As part of the development work at Medaram, the construction of the Saralamma main gate in Tadwai Mandal is progressing rapidly.
Mulugu District Collector Divakar T.S. personally inspected the installation of PT beams at the gate. During the visit, he emphasized that the design reflects the rich tribal traditions of the region. The main gate will feature artistic representations of the Saralamma Vanadevatha family tree and symbols of the Koya tribal community.
To ensure a smooth experience for devotees, the collector also reviewed the installation of modern queue lines and grills around the hills. He stressed that all work should be completed on time without compromising quality, so that pilgrims can have a comfortable and enjoyable darshan during the festival.
The district administration is paying special attention to crowd management, with strict measures planned to regulate the large influx of devotees at the hills. The Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara is scheduled to be celebrated from January 28 to 31, with the state government estimating that over a crore of devotees are expected to attend.
