Ranabaali Trailer To Release Today Ahead Of October 16 Theatrical Debut
The much-awaited trailer of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Ranabaali will be released today, October 8, at 6:03 p.m., ahead of the period action drama’s worldwide theatrical release on October 16. The trailer has a runtime of 3 minutes and 47 seconds.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the Pan-India film is set against the backdrop of 19th-century British India and draws from historical events and oral folklore associated with the Rayalaseema region. Vijay plays Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a fierce rebel warrior, while Rashmika portrays his wife Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy, plays the British officer and antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.
The character of Ranabaali is reportedly inspired by legendary Rayalaseema warriors and Palegars, including Budda Vengal Reddy, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and Gadekal Bobbili Nagireddy. The film also draws heavily from the Great Madras Famine of 1876–78, exploring the suffering of people under British rule alongside the rebellion.
The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series. Ajay-Atul have composed the music, while Neerav Shah and Jishnu Bhattacharjee serve as cinematographers.
Originally scheduled for September 11, the film was later postponed and is now set for a grand release on Vijayadashami, October 16. The teaser and songs have already generated considerable buzz, while promotional interviews featuring the lead pair have further raised expectations for the trailer.
