Ramayana Trailer Leaves Industry Insiders Impressed Ahead of Official Release

The much-anticipated trailer of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has generated significant excitement among film industry insiders, with many praising its scale, visuals, and star-studded cast. The epic adaptation of the revered Indian mythology is being mounted as a two-part cinematic spectacle and is among the most ambitious projects ever attempted in Indian cinema.

Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita, the film is reportedly being produced on a massive budget of around ₹4,000 crore. The makers have also roped in legendary composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman to create the film’s soundtrack, further elevating expectations. The project is being filmed for the IMAX format, with the first installment scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.

Director Atlee described the visuals as “grand and fresh,” while praising the performances and screen presence of the lead cast. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the trailer “breathtaking,” highlighting its visual effects, scale, and casting choices as standout elements.

Some industry observers and analysts felt that portions of the visual effects did not entirely live up to the enormous expectations surrounding the project. Despite these mixed opinions, the overall response remains largely favorable, with many appreciating the film’s ambition and cinematic vision.

Among the biggest talking points has been Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, with viewers reportedly impressed by his commanding screen presence and intense look. His appearance has already sparked considerable discussion on social media, adding to the growing anticipation.
